Meet the Coaches

Coaching Staff 22-23

Tyler Moore

Head Coach and Quarterbacks

Coach Moore will be entering his 12th year as a Texas high school football coach and 8th year at Prosper High School. He has served as the Eagles Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks coach for the previous 7 years. Prior to joining the Eagles, Coach Moore served as the Wide Receivers coach at Cedar Park High School. He was born and raised in Georgetown, TX and attended Texas A&M University where he received Bachelors in Kinesiology. He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Devin, for 9 years and the couple has two young sons, Grayson (4 years) & Austin (16 Months).

Chase Petersen

Defensive Coordinator and Safeties

Coach Petersen is in his 9th year of coaching, all of which have been at Prosper. This will be his 4th year coaching the safeties. After graduating from Prosper HS in 2009, he attended the University of North Texas and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. He will also be coaching track and field. He and his beautiful wife Anna have been married for 12 years. They have two boys Chance (7) and Nash (4) and one girl Brooklyn (born in August).

Brian Thompson

Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Line

Coach Thompson is beginning his 20th year of coaching, and 6th at Prosper High School. He previously coached at Princeton, Red Oak, Marshall, and Nevada Community high schools. He is originally from Howe, TX and played football at Austin College in Sherman, TX where he was a 3 year Academic All conference Player and 2 year starter on the offensive line. He graduated in 2002 and served as a graduate assistant while obtaining his Master’s degree in 2003. Goals for the season: Be recognized as the most physical offensive line in the district and help young men discover the work ethic to be successful when they graduate high school. Coach Thompson is married to his beautiful wife Melissa and they have three children: Charlotte 8, Madison 14, and Gavin 17.

Coby Richards

Special Teams Coordinator and Outside Linebackers

Coach Richards is in his 18th year of coaching and this will be his 7th year at Prosper HS. He is a 2004 Graduate of Howard Payne University & completed his Masters Degree in Education Administration from Lamar University in 2010. Prior to Prosper ISD, Coach Richards served Cameron ISD for 4 years as Football Coach and Head Baseball Coach. He also served Duncanville ISD for 7 years where he was the Defensive Coordinator for Football and coached Baseball. Coach Richards is married to Veronica who also coaches for PISD, they have 2 children, Halle (13) & Brody (11).

Devin Lemons

Defensive Line

Originally from Pampa Tx, he is entering his 17th year of coaching and teaching. Graduated from Texas Tech University where he played football. Also played in the NFL for 5 years before retiring and transitioning into coaching. He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Nicole, for 23 years and they have 3 amazing sons together. Gabe, who is currently playing football at SFA, Chris, who is a senior here at PHS, and Isaac, who is a 4th grader.

Darren Kight

Varsity Linebackers

This is Coach Kight’s 2ndyear at Prosper High School and 32ndoverall. His coaching stops include Angelo State University, Howard Payne University, Round Rock Stony Point, Round Rock Westwood, Georgetown, and Frisco Lone Star. He has been married to his wonderful wife Jillian for 21 years and has two children. Kyndall 16 and Cooper 14.

Beau Smith

Varsity H-Backs

This is Coach Smith’s 1st year at Prosper High School and 7th overall. He previously worked at West Mesquite, Cypress Lakes, University of Texas at El Paso, & Leander Rouse. He also played football at Sam Houston State between 2011-15. He is married to his wife, Madison! Going on almost 2 years now. No kids yet.

Eric Mach

Varsity Defensive Assistant

This is Coach Mach’s 1st year at Prosper High School and 24th overall. Prior to Prosper, Coach Mach was at Hebron High School since 2002, serving as Defensive Coordinator there since 2009. In 2005, Coach Mach was an assistant on Hebron’s Class 4A Division-II State Championship team. Before Hebron, Coach Mach was a Graduate Assistant at Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota for 1 year, as well as Lincoln Pius X High School in Lincoln, Nebraska for 3 years before that, including being an assistant on the Nebraska 1998 Class B State Championship team. Coach Mach is an alumni of the University of Nebraska, and is originally from Minden, Nebraska. He has been married to his wonderful wife Lisa for 17 years and has one child, Anton.

John Hutti

Freshman Offensive Line

Coach Hutti is in his 6th year of coaching all in PISD and this will be his 2nd year at Prosper High School. He is a 2017 Graduate of Texas Tech University where he received his Bachelors in History. He will be coaching the Freshman offensive line, and will also be coaching Freshman Basketball. Coach Hutti teaches World Geography.

Cam Devereaux

Varsity Cornerbacks

Originally from Houston, Texas. Went to Henderson State where I received my bachelor's degree in education and Master's degree in Sports Administration. A 4-year letterman at defensive back for Henderson State University where I won two conference championships out of those four years. I have been coaching for 9 years, while spending the last five in Frisco isd. Super excited to bring passion, energy, and the daily desire to be better than yesterday to The Prosper High School, athletic programs, and community. My wife of four years is also an educator in Prosper ISD as she teaches first grade at Windsong Ranch Elementary.

Braden Clary

Freshman Receivers

Coach Clary will be in his 8th year of coaching and entering his first at Prosper H.S. He is a graduate of Denton H.S. in 2006 and Lubbock Christian University in 2014 where he played baseball. His coaching stops include Slaton, Lubbock Cooper, Ranchview and R.L. Turner. Coach Clary has been married to his wife of four years, Kelsey, who is also a teacher and coach. Coach Clary and Kelsey also have a 1-year-old daughter, Charlotte.
